European History Overview
European History is the study of the political, social and cultural development of the European continent. Courses in European History begin with ancient peoples and empires and continues up through into the contemporary era.
Students must acquire not only a solid familiarity with the key events and figure of European History, but also a lasting and critical understanding of its larger patterns, causes, and structures.
Parliament European History Tutoring Program
Our program prepares students with:
- The ability to critically examine both historical materials as well as the varying, and often competing, interpretations of European History.
- A thorough knowledge of the leading figures and pivotal events of European History; including significant moments within the cultural and literary heritage of its peoples and nations.
- A crucial understanding of the economic developments and technical innovations that have greatly effected the course of European History, and often the the wider world.
- The key elements of writing a compelling and well-researched historical essay. This includes creating a clearly-defined thesis and supporting it with ample and persuasive historical evidence.
