About Me
Hello! My name is Ms. Maria, I used to live in Florida, so a lot of gators! I teach science, math, and reading, though I do love math! I would be happy to be your new tutor to help you be super confident and reach all your goals and dreams! I know I'm your teacher, but I also want to be your biggest supporter! I have taught for over five years, and I use a lot of games, toys, activities, and more to make sure we are not learning in a way that makes us both sleepy! I can't wait to meet you!

I have recently graduated from the University of Florida with my Bachelor's in Health Disparities!
Teaching Experience
I've had over 5 years of experience specializing in standardized test prep and tutoring science and math subjects across grade levels. I have Mentored students in academic growth and test-taking strategies. Delivered personalized support to students from diverse backgrounds, including those in Foster Care, Refugee Programs, and Children’s Hospitals. Supported ESE, NSLP, and other education programs to help narrow the achievement gap. And am experienced in homeschooling instruction (online and in-person), customizing learning plans for individual student needs.
Interests
I love reading, gardening, and crocheting! I also go on plenty of hikes with my 3-year-old pointer puppy!
