About Me

I am very curious about the world and everything that makes it a beautiful and mysterious place. I enjoy sharing part of that curiosity (and what I have learned as a result of it) with my students and relatives. One common way I have of igniting or conveying that curiosity is through brief discussions of mind-blowing facts and puzzles. This is possible to do because the universe, the mind, and even logic itself are so vast in comparison to our understanding that they can reveal marvelous surprises when explored. Nevertheless, such a journey requires effort. Part of my goal is to help you get better at exerting that necessary effort and that occurs, mostly, in the form of thinking about the topics being discussed. From my experience as a tutor, I have been able to observe that it is more important and fruitful to think seriously about a problem, especially if it is one you do not understand, than it is to solve it using some easy method without thinking about it. Another point I believe is worth mentioning is rather a word: balance. I can share impressive facts, be very funny occasionally, focus on rigorous teaching most of the time, listen to you every time, and maintain these four aspects in balance at all times. Finally, the last thing I think you should know about me is that I am not afraid to be corrected. I know that sharing knowledge is the best learning method.

Education

I have attended two institutions so far: New College of Florida (2017-2018) and Miami Dade College (2023 - present). As an undergraduate student majoring in physics at New College of Florida, I successfully completed undergraduate-level coursework and a summer research project on classical electrodynamics. I enrolled in Miami Dade College in May 2023, and acquired a College Credit Certificate in Network Security in December 2023. Currently, I am pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity and will continue to advance my career in the upcoming years. After I achieve my academic goals in the field of information security, I intend to study physics, mathematics, and philosophy.

Teaching Experience

I have over 5 years of cumulative experience aiding high school and college students in most subjects pertaining to the field of physics and mathematics. The first time I provided guidance to someone, I was a high school student. It started with a few classmates from AP Physics class, then classmates from other classes, and then I ended up joining the math club Mu Alpha Theta (MAT) at Westland Hialeah Senior High School. As a member of MAT, I had the opportunity to assist multiple students from different grades (between 9th-12th) on a daily basis. However, it was not until my first semester in college that I began tutoring as an occupation. The first employer I had the pleasure of collaborating with was Tutor Doctor, an international company that offers one-on-one tutoring services to students of all ages. I was able to maintain this job for a year, but unfortunately when I had to relocate back to Miami, my only alternative was to resign. In addition to Tutor Doctor, I have been providing online tutoring services in conjunction with Tutor.com since the Fall of 2018. Thanks to Tutor.com I have had the opportunity to reinforce my teaching skills and ignite my passion for teaching throughout these years.

Interests

In my free time, I am usually reading, exercising, spending time with my friends and family, feeding street cats and dogs, playing soccer (although not as frequently as I wish), listening to educational podcasts, learning Italian, and watching a series or documentary with my girlfriend. Other hobbies I plan to engage in in the future include visiting various mountains, zoos, aquariums, museums, and places pervaded with history, especially the history of cryptology and of science. I would also love to learn sculpture, painting, and weaving. Finally, my favorite hobby is one I have never been able to do yet, but it will happen someday. It is to travel to different places where the night sky is unimaginably visible, and look up at the stars through a telescope, contemplating the vastness of the cosmos, and with the indispensable company of those whom I love.

I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
