About Me
I want to share with you why I find so much joy in teaching and tutoring. Growing up, I never had the opportunity to receive much personalized guidance in my learning. When I first began teaching, I discovered how fulfilling it was to engage directly with students and witness your growth and achievements. This realization transformed teaching for me—it became more than just a job; it became a passion. Every day, I am excited to offer the support and encouragement I missed, hoping it makes your educational journey rewarding and enjoyable. I also want you to know that aside from our lessons, I really enjoy chatting about fun movies and hearing all the interesting stories you have to share—including the latest slang words! Connecting with each of you and building a strong rapport is incredibly important to me. These conversations not only make our time together more enjoyable but also help us understand each other better, making our learning environment more lively and engaging. I look forward to each of our sessions and the unique exchanges we have.
Education
I attended California University of Pennsylvania, where I pursued and earned a degree in Sports Management Wellness and Fitness. This program equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of sports administration, health promotion, and fitness management. My education has prepared me to effectively design and manage wellness programs and sports facilities, fostering both individual and community health. I graduated in 2010.
Teaching Experience
After earning a degree in Sports Management Wellness and Fitness, I found my calling in education when I began working as a substitute teacher in 2009. This four-year experience was immensely fulfilling, and it paved the way for a more specialized teaching role when I moved to the Netherlands. There, I transitioned into teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to Latvian students, adapting my approach to meet the unique needs of non-native speakers. My journey in ESL education continued with VIPKid, where I taught a consistent group of 15 students over another four-year span, until the company underwent a significant format change. Subsequently, after relocating to Pensacola, I engaged with a nonprofit organization that focuses on teaching cultural diversity in local elementary schools. This role not only enhanced my educational repertoire but also deepened my commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments. Eventually, I decided to leverage my accumulated experience by starting the beginning stages of my own nonprofit dedicated to ESL, aiming to empower non-native speakers through tailored language education.
Interests
When I'm not teaching, my time is often spent at the soccer fields, cheering on my son during his matches. I also enjoy staying active through Pilates and going on hikes with my family to explore the great outdoors. Relaxing times often involve watching good movies, a perfect way to unwind and spend quality time with loved ones.
