About Me

I am a positive person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life. I love my job and I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals. If I can have a positive impact on their future, I feel I am doing my job well. I am an effective communicator, both in writing and verbally and I have a strong ability to plan and organise effectively; something which is crucial to the role of a competent teacher. I cope very well with pressure and can adapt my style or teaching methods, when needed, to deliver consistent results. I have an understanding of the bigger picture and the pressures that are placed on the school. I am someone who always implements effective behaviour management processes in the classroom and strive myself on an ability to continually develop both personally and professionally.

Education

I received my Master's in Applied Mathematics in 2020. Before that, my undergraduate degree was in Mathematics and I also have a national Diploma in Mathematics Education in 2015. These valuable educational experiences helped set me up to build my career in an in-demand and competitive industry. One area where I particularly flourished was in Mathematics Education, making me well-suited for tutorship roles where I teach and educate students.

Teaching Experience

I spent one year at Hopeway High School and three years at Toafix. I taught alongside older professionals. I must say I really enjoyed this experience and learned a lot from the other teachers. Every day was different, and I felt like understanding each student better and better as we progressed in the program. This experience helped me to understand that teaching was a right choice for my career, and now I am motivated to teach, and to put into practice everything I learned at HHS and Toafix. I taught at elementary school for three months, during the last year at the college. It was difficult at first, as I found it hard to cope with the discipline issues in the classroom. However, after few weeks I found my ground, and I learned what worked with the students, and how to keep the discipline at a reasonable level. It was an extraordinary time, and to be honest, I still miss the children.
