About Me
Hi! I’m Alexandra, and I recently earned my degree in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M! I’ve always loved science and problem-solving, and I’m passionate about helping other students make sense of challenging topics in a way that clicks. More than anything, I want to inspire my students to appreciate how rewarding it can be to learn something new, even when it’s difficult. There’s something incredibly empowering about turning confusion into confidence, and I love being part of that journey. Whether we’re tackling tricky homework or preparing for a big test, I’m here to support you with patience, encouragement, and personalized strategies. Learning doesn’t always have to be intimidating! With the right mindset, it can actually be exciting. I can’t wait to get started!
Education
I earned by B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, last May! This Fall, I will be pursuing my M.S in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. During my undergraduate, I specialized in cellular and molecular engineering, which had allowed me to dive deeply into studies pertaining to human biology, physiology, and complex biochemical mechanisms. I loved the study and research, leading me to continue school.
Teaching Experience
While I have not held a formal paid tutoring position, I have extensive informal tutoring experience. I’ve helped younger siblings and friends understand science and math concepts throughout high school and within college. In addition, I served as a mentor and trainer in my research lab, where I guided new undergraduate assistants through experimental protocols, lab safety practices, and data analysis techniques. As Vice President and Philanthropy Chair of Alpha Eta Mu Beta, Biomedical Engineering Honor Society, I also organized and presented STEM education events for elementary and middle school students. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate complex topics clearly, tailor explanations to diverse learning styles, and support others in developing confidence in their skills.
Interests
Outside of academics and research, I’m a big fan of reading. I love diving into both fiction and nonfiction books to explore new ideas and expand my understanding of the world, especially in areas like neuroscience and psychology. I believe my love for learning is extremely central to my identity. I also enjoy going on runs, spending time outside, and swimming in my local lake. I'm also fairly extroverted, so I really value quality time with my close friends and family. Additionally, I love cooking new foods and listening to new music! I'm a big fan of music history and love exploring new artists.
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
