About Me
My other interests include just about anything in the arts and humanities, Judaism, nature, politics, and most of all my five-year-old daughter, Jackie.
Education
I received a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland, graduating summa cum laude in 1997. I received a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College in December 1999.
Teaching Experience
I began tutoring regularly in college, as a volunteer tutor of fellow Hebrew students and as a staff tutor at the campus Writing Center. In the 22 years since graduating, I've tutored students ranging in age from elementary-schoolers to senior citizens in ESL, reading comprehension, spelling, phonics, Hebrew, and American and world history. I also taught a poetry workshop at the Brookline (Massachusetts) Community Center for the Arts.
Interests
My poetry, book reviews, and general nonfiction have been published in several print and online venues, and I've self-published two collections of poetry and a business writing guide. I also work as a freelance editor and proofreader.
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
