About Me

I am looking forward to helping you with your English writing and grammar as well as literature! One-on-one is my favorite kind of teaching and instruction and I want to make you feel as comfortable as possible while learning.

Education

I attend Wingate University and will graduate in May 2020. My major is English and my minors are Professional and Technical Writing and Philosophy. I am in the Honors College and am president of the Wingate Chapter of the Phi Eta Sigma Honors Fraternity. I was also members of the Leo Club, Pre-Law Club, and Ethics Bowl. I studied for and took the LSAT in September of 2019 and got a 159, but have since decided not to go to law school. I plan to become an editor or high school English teacher in the Washington D.C. area once I graduate.

Teaching Experience

I am a writing tutor in the Wingate University Writing Center. I have spent over seventy hours helping students improve their writing for academic papers and reports. Additionally, I tutor students in English literature upon request. I have also worked with many ESL students with grammar and writing.

Interests

I play alto saxophone in the Wingate University Wind Ensemble and soprano saxophone in a saxophone quartet. I also love to scrapbook, lift weights, and run.

I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
