About Me
I did not always like school. I liked school for the social parts, being with my friends, after school activities. From when I was young through high school I did not believe in myself when it came to school so I did not really try. When I went to college, I started to like school more. I remember I studied really hard for a test and I got a 98! From there I started to apply myself more to my school work. Now I never want to stop going to school! If you believe in yourself and apply yourself you can love school too! I believe in you and we haven't even met yet!
Education
I graduated from Kean University with a bachelor's in psychology. I graduated with a 3.9gpa, Summa Cum Laude, top of my class, making Dean's list every semester, receiving multiple awards for academic excellence all while working full time. I currently attend Rutgers University for graduate school,a top 25 program in the country, in hopes of receiving my Masters in Social Work. I believe that my background in psych and social work will make me a unique candidate for a tutoring position. I am able to meet a student at a cognitive, emotional, motivational level and tailor a study plan that best meets their needs.
Teaching Experience
I do not have any formal tutoring experience. I have helped my younger brother, who is a sophomore in college, peer review and edit his essays. I also have experience in teaching myself. I taught myself college algebra and trigonometry, and I taught myself my lesson plan in advanced biology.
Interests
I am up for anything! I love learning and I would love to instill that in a student. I have open availability aside from my own course schedule which meets Wednesday afternoons. While reading comprehension and writing is my strong suit, I am skilled in math science
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
