About Me

To me, few things are more enjoyable and fulfilling than really getting to know students and then watching those same people grow and flourish under my tutelage. To know that I was able to help someone either discover a love for something that they didn't even know they had, to help someone further develop their love for something they are already passionate about, or even just to assist someone in achieving some temporary goal is one of my greatest joys. I firmly believe that a good teacher can change your life forever, even if it is in the study of something you may not use later on in life.

Education

I am currently attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with plans to transfer to and finish university by May 2027 at a CUNY/SUNY closer to New York City due to financial difficulties. I studied computer science in my first year at RPI, then transferred to the game design and development program. In game design I have a concentration in writing, computer programming, and gameplay design.

Teaching Experience

My formal experiences include teaching martial arts at AEON Taekwondo to children ages 4 through 16, and teaching computer science to upcoming high school sophomores. My informal experiences include tutoring my younger siblings in high school math and sciences in order to prepare them for the Regents exams, as well as (successfully) in preparation for the SHSAT high school entrance exam.

Interests

I enjoy reading both novels and comics, especially of the fantasy genre. I also enjoy creative writing, and hope to someday pursue creative writing more professionally. As my field of study might suggest, I also greatly enjoy a wide variety of video games. I have also been ballroom dancing for a little over three years, and have competed at a regional level. Though I have not had the opportunity to do so in recent years, I still greatly enjoy both learning and teaching martial arts. I also picked up music production as a hobby about a year and a half ago. I used to play the piano and the violin, though a lack of access to either instrument has left me wanting for a while now.

I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
