About Me
I was born on the tiny Channel Island of Jersey, located between England and France. I grew up in a musical family before pursuing a career in music of my own. After 10 years of freelancing and working in studios and live venues around the United Kingdom, I decided to explore opportunities elsewhere and relocated to Nashville, were I have found a permanent home among a community of like-minded and passionate professionals from all walks of life who share the same drive and values that I hold.
Education
I studied music performance & audio engineering at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and graduated in 2006. While there, I developed a strong skillset in recording, mixing, Producing and studio workflow, and gained hands-on experience with signal flow, recording techniques, and both analog and Digital audio production.
Teaching Experience
* I have both formal and informal teaching experience in audio engineering and music production. I currently teach at Dark Horse Institute in Franklin Tennessee where I work directly with students on topics such as signal flow, recording techniques, and real-world studio workflow. In addition to structured instruction, I regularly mentor students in hands-on sessions, helping them apply technical concepts in practical recording and mixing scenarios. Outside of the classroom, I’ve also guided artists, musicians, and developing engineers through session work and educational content, focusing on making complex audio concepts clear, approachable, and immediately usable in a professional studio environment.
Interests
* Beyond the studio, I value time with friends and family and enjoy anything that helps me reset creatively and stay inspired. That usually means stepping away from the technical side of audio and just enjoying music as a listener, going to live shows, or spending time outdoors. I’m also naturally drawn to anything hands-on or creative, whether that’s tinkering with gear, working on personal woodworking projects, going to the Gym, watching sports or exploring new ideas that eventually find their way back into my work. I’ve found that keeping a balance between focused studio work and time away from it not only helps me stay refreshed, but ultimately makes me a better engineer and educator.
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
