About Me
My name is Shervin Hawley. I wasn't always good at math. In fact, I dropped out of middle school. This was the worst mistake of my life and has really hurt my education long-term. I didn't let this stop me, though. I struggled through college, but after getting tutoring I started performing very well! It may be hard, it may be tedious, but you can learn math if you have good instruction and a good attitude! I am here to show you what I was shown and to show you what I wish I was shown. You all are capable of greatness!
Education
I am a middle school dropout turned college graduate. After dropping out I struggled through Austin Community College, but after finding the tutoring lab and getting tutoring I started succeeding. I even ended up getting a job at ACC's learning lab. After that I attended Texas State University where I tutored students in nearly all undergraduate mathematics and where I got my B.S. In Applied Mathematics with a math GPA of about 3.6 and total GPA of about 3.2.
Teaching Experience
After getting my own tutoring I got good enough at math to tutor it myself. I learned so much being a tutor and have been a tutor at either ACC or Texas State University for the past 10 years now. Just last year I became a teacher at Harmony School of Excellence. I teach Algebra 1. It's been quite the experience!
Interests
I love playing video games and relaxing with friends. I really like watching
